Reolink Home Hub Pro vs NVR: the rows that differ
The Home Hub Pro is Reolink’s hub on Wi-Fi with no PoE. This page sets it against one of Reolink’s PoE NVRs, the 8-port RLN8-410 (other NVRs have other limits), keeping only the rows where Reolink’s numbers differ.
Verified against Reolink’s spec sheets for the Home Hub Pro (opens in a new tab) (Last-Modified 2026-07-22) and the RLN8-410 (opens in a new tab) (Last-Modified 2026-07-22) and Reolink’s support articles; records verified on and .
| Row | Reolink Home Hub Pro | Reolink RLN8-410 (hardware N7MB01) |
|---|---|---|
| Cameras in total | Up to 24 (spec sheet); 12 on some hardware versions (below) | 12 |
| Wired cameras (PoE or plug-in Wi-Fi) | Up to 12 | Up to 8 |
| PoE camera ports | None: 1 camera port, which does not provide power | 8, IEEE 802.3af/at, up to 25 W per port |
| Maximum size per drive | 16 TB | 8 TB |
| External drive (eSATA) | — | 1 port; 16 TB internal and external together |
| microSD | Up to 512 GB, only with no hard drive installed | — |
| Wi-Fi | IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, 2.4/5 GHz | — |
| Video output | HDMI | VGA, HDMI |
| Power input | DC 12V/2A | DC 48V~53V |
A dash means the spec sheet doesn’t list the feature. The RLN8-410’s camera counts are from Reolink’s article How Many Cameras Can be Added to Reolink NVRs (opens in a new tab).
If the Home Hub Pro’s camera limits and its single-drive storage fit your system, this is where to find the Reolink Home Hub Pro.

What the differences mean for your cameras
Power for PoE cameras
The RLN8-410 powers PoE cameras from its own ports (its spec sheet gives no total PoE budget). The Home Hub Pro does not: Reolink’s article How to Add Reolink Camera to Home Hub Series (opens in a new tab) says: The Home Hub Pro’s LAN port does not provide power: a camera connected to it, directly or through a switch, needs an external power supply. Which means PoE cameras on the hub need a PoE switch or injector: Reolink’s PoE guide (opens in a new tab) asks for 802.3af (802.3at for some models) in active mode.
How many cameras, and of which kind
Reolink counts PoE and plug-in Wi-Fi cameras together as “wired”. Common mixes, against Reolink’s limits:
| Your cameras | Home Hub Pro | RLN8-410 (N7MB01) |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 8 PoE cameras | Within its 12 wired; power from a PoE switch or injector | Within its 8 wired; powered by its own ports |
| 9 to 12 PoE cameras | Within its 12 wired, with a PoE switch | Over its 8 wired |
| 8 PoE + 4 battery cameras | Within 12 in total, on either hardware version | Reolink’s printed mix for this NVR: 8 wired + 4 battery |
| 12 battery cameras | Within 12, on either hardware version | Within 12, from NVR firmware v3.5.0.321_24060733 |
| 13 to 24 cameras, at most 12 of them wired | Only on hardware BASE_WUNNT3NA5 / BASE_WENNT3NA5 (up to 24) | Over its 12 |
The RLN8-410’s 4 battery cameras are its 12 in total minus 8 wired. Battery cameras also depend on the camera’s own version: Reolink rates each one in its Home Hub compatibility chart (opens in a new tab) (conditional, some older versions not supported).
Same 16 TB, two routes
The Home Hub Pro takes one drive of up to 16 TB in its 1 bay, so 1 × 16 = 16 TB is its ceiling. The RLN8-410 reaches the same 16 TB only as two drives of 8 TB, one inside and one on eSATA, and Reolink’s drive guide (opens in a new tab) adds: External HDD on the eSATA port with its own power (enclosure for a 3.5-inch HDD with eSATA, or eSATA data cable plus power cable); never through the NVR’s USB port. Which means one drive in the hub can be 16 ÷ 8 = 2 times the size of one in the NVR.
Both use Reolink’s Recommended HDD List. The 8 TB ST8000VX009 fits either (listed, and 8 TB is the RLN8-410’s per-drive limit). The 10 TB ST10000VE001 and the 16 TB ST16000VE000 are on the same list but above the RLN8-410’s 8 TB, so they fit only the hub. Off the list, Reolink asks for Enterprise or Surveillance class drives for both.
Check the hardware version first
Both models exist in more than one hardware version, and the numbers above hold only for some.
- Home Hub Pro. The spec sheet names no hardware version. Reolink’s Home Hub compatibility article (opens in a new tab) gives 24 cameras only for BASE_WUNNT3NA5 / BASE_WENNT3NA5 and 12 of any type for BASE_WENNT3NA512C / BASE_WUNNT3NA512C; no Reolink source says which version ships today, so plan for 12 unless you know yours (verification level: manufacturer).
- RLN8-410. The spec sheet’s figures are for N7MB01; Reolink’s HDD article (opens in a new tab) gives the same 8 TB per drive for NVR_NNT3NA78P, 6 TB for H3MB18, N2MB02 and N3MB01, 4 TB for H3MB16 and H3MB02 (verification level: manufacturer).
Pick the Home Hub Pro if, pick the RLN8-410 if
Pick the Home Hub Pro if your system mixes battery, plug-in Wi-Fi and PoE cameras; you plan 9 to 12 wired cameras, or more than 12 in total on a known BASE_WUNNT3NA5 or BASE_WENNT3NA5 unit; you want one drive bigger than 8 TB, up to 16 TB, with no enclosure; and you are fine adding a PoE switch for PoE cameras.
Pick the RLN8-410 if you have up to 8 PoE cameras for the recorder to power with no extra switch; you want VGA as well as HDMI; and you are fine with 8 TB per drive, plus an eSATA drive to reach 16 TB.
